Chemical properties: Has the nature of alcohol and ether.
Compatibility: Be soluble in water, ethanol, benzene, toluene immiscibility.Hard to solubilize in ether, and insoluble in petroleum ether. Be with hygroscopic. It has connected with the alkyl and hydroxyl oxygen atoms, so that it has the properties of alcohol and ether.
Solubility ( in triethylene glycol %): Carbon tetrachloride~41%, ether~20%, tetrachlorethylene~18%, toluene~33%.
Use: Used as a solvent, extraction agents, desiccant. Is also used in printing inks as a hygroscopic agent, softening agent.
             As disinfectant cleaning agent in air-conditioning systems.
             A good substitute for 2 Diethylene glycol (diethylene glycol).Or even more environmentally and safe than 2 Diethylene glycol (diethylene glycol) .
             HLB value of TEG lower than that of diethylene glycol, so it's much more pro-oil.
